Palpilot International Corp has announced the release of their Isolation Transformer series suitable for applications where there are large DC magnetic fields. The PS1694 and PS1697 Pulse Transformers are designed to convey power across isolation boundaries with a noteworthy ET Constant capability.
Originally developed to work with the Maxim e-metering and remote sensing ICs these transformers have been used in other applications where there is a high DC magnetic field (9000G Max).
There are currently three versions PS1694 which is compliant with EN50470-1, Class II, ≤300V, Reinforced Isolation, PS1697 which meets the requirements of UL60950-1 for Basic Insulation and PS2486 which is a fully encapsulated version of the PS1694 ensuring that a minimum Creepage Distance of 11mm is exceeded.
The transformers all feature:
DC Magnetic Field resistance 0.9T maximum (1.22T peak)
ET Constant up to 60 V-µS
Isolation Voltage of 7000V DC (tested for 1 second)
Operating Temperature of -40 to +85°C
Surface Mount construction suitable for Pick and Place.
IR compatible 260°C Max.
